seafood recipes, holiday traditions, and family gatherings. The concept began as we reflected on the life of our mother and her gift of entertaining and cooking. She grew up spending summers at Little Lagoon--cleaning fish, catching crabs, and enjoying the simplicity of life on the coast. As a matriarch, she taught us that good food is not only part of our family tradition but also our culture. She would often be seen preparing the best gumbo in the world (her words- but it’s true), cleaning crabs on our summer vacation, or sitting around the table telling stories about her early days on the coast. Bays to Bayous is quite simple: It’s a love letter to our mother thanking her for raising us to appreciate the beauty and awe of God’s creation on the Gulf Coast.
